I had a very unfortunate experience interviewing with Apollo. After interviewing for 2 months (recruiter call, HM call, take home and panel presentation, interviews with 3 stakeholders, 3 references completed), I received a verbal offer in which the comp matched what they posted on their job description and what I had expressed at the beginning of the process.
About a week after I received the verbal, they gave me news that there had been cost cutting measures (all of a sudden) and the comp would likely fall below the band they posted. Then, a few days later, they told me that the range would now be significantly lower than the band they posted. When I finally received the offer, it ended up being about 25% below the lower end of the band, far lower than what I'm currently making.
The recruiter and HM explained to me that there were cost cutting measures that had been put into place that impacted the role and caused it to be down-leveled. This is not the fault of my specific HM/recruiter, but the whole experience left me with a terrible impression of Apollo. Not only did they waste a lot of my time, but they also reached out to my references and wasted their time. I would be careful interviewing with them. I'm not sure they respect their candidates' time and I think they would not hesitate to pull the rug out from under you at the last minute.
