I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Artistic Tile in Nov 2024
Interview
The process was clear and efficient. Interview with VP of Marketing, then the CMO and finally an in person panel with 4 members of the creative team. Although I ultimately didn’t receive an offer I felt the process was clear, quick and cordial. After speaking with the creative team, I walked away with the sense that this position is being under-hired and the creative team is needing more leadership, refined processes and clearer rules of engagement. I see an opportunity here for the executive team to learn more about building and managing creative teams so that leadership roles such as an art director, can be set to succeed given the expectations and goals for the role in addition to retaining talent. The current team has a lot to say about this particular role’s pain points and they’re very astute to identify why it has been difficult to retain talent in this role. Listen to them 🙂

Interview
Ghosted after two interviews. First one was okay, but the second not so much. The interviewer kept speaking over me, never let me finish a sentence, demeaned my work, but somehow managed to wrap up the interview with great feedback. Never heard back afterwards. Considering the underwhelming salary and benefits for the role and the reviews of the company, definitely feels like I dodged a bullet.
Company VP video call. Followup with Sales Manager. You're GREAT for the job. You fall into our salary window(which is a ridiculous method, just say what the job pays). Meet in person. WOW, you are amazing! We're going to make budgetary adjusts to get you here. Hold tight. *Crickets

Question 1
Standard questions. It was the "listen to what I have done" statements from them that was baffling.
