The internal recruiter provided information about the role and what to expect but then failed to set the right expectation for the panel interview and what material should be prepared for it. At the panel they will ask you to support a negotiation conversation with detailed documentation that you were not told to prepare. (even though I'd prepared a commercial quotation to go over) the hiring manager and his manager will try to catch you out with the type of questions they asked in front of their VP who was also on the call.
