      Stress Engineer Interview

      22 Oct 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Red Oak, TX
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bombardier (Red Oak, TX) in Sept 2024

      Interview

First, call with HR to gage interest/general fit for role. Next, about a week later, onsite interview with hiring manager including facility tour. Second interview was almost entirely job-related questions, not a lot of generic behavioral questions. There was long period of time between the interview and the time where a formal written offer was delivered (3.5 weeks), but I was updated frequently in this time. Had positive experiences with talent acquisition and hiring team. Ultimately went with a different opportunity that came up during the time I was waiting for formal offer.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Questions about how I would go about substantiating different types of aircraft repairs.

      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Bombardier

      Interview

Standard Interview went over my resume and typical HR questions. This was internal hire so the experience could be a bit different for external hires. Overall very pleasant conversation, with no trick questions, be passionate about learning and what you want to and you'll have a very good shot.

      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Bombardier in Feb 2017

      Interview

Phone Interview followed by In-person Interview (by a group of three or more people). The phone interview typically is to screen you for an in-person interview. The interviewer asks you questions such as: 1) How much experience you have in this particular role? 2) Are you familiar with a particular type of analysis? (eg: static stress/ fatigue) 3) On a level of 1 to 10 how would you rate your expertise in using MS Office? 4) Your expected salary range? The people who will be typically interviewing you are the HR, the department manager, your supervisor etc. This will be a more through interview where they will go over your experience and ask you specific questions. Review your resume so that you can elaborate each point and why do you think that is relevant to this job.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Telephone interview asks you standard questions: 1) How many years of experience? 2) Are you familiar with a particular software? (eg: CATIA) 3) Salary expectations? In person interview: 1) A combination of technical, HR general questions depending upon the role/ experience. (eg: when elaborating a previous experience why did we do it that way - basically to check if you know what you are talking about)
