      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capco (London, England) in Nov 2020

      Interview

First stage was a written application. Second stage was four questions you had to answer in one minute via a video. You got a practice question but for the real questions you couldn't re-submit your answers. Third stage was a three-hour assessment day which was virtual because of covid-19. There were about 40 of us that day (there'd been another assessment day which I assume also had around 40 people). Half of the assessment was a case study which was fairly simple and the other half was three quick-fire interviews, each lasting about 15 mins. It was well organised and I enjoyed it overall, but my only criticism was that one of my interviewers didn't listen to anything I said, so much so that she asked the same question to me twice. She left a whole ten minutes for me to ask her questions. I know it was a long day and she'd interviewed lots of people and like everyone else she was working from home and she had a child jumping around in the background, but it felt very unprofessional. I'd been impressed by the first couple of stages of the interview process because of the quick responses. However, despite saying they would reply by the first week of December during the assessment, they never replied even after I followed up with them, which was very disappointing. I assume I didn't get to the fourth stage after having read Glassdoor reviews of other people who attended the same assessment day as me.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How would you describe a day in the life of a consultant? What role do you play in a team? What are some key trends in the industry that will impact the way banks function? If you don’t get this job what’s your backup plan?

Firstly, thank you for sharing your feedback as it helps us to continue to improve our process and to ensure that everyone has a positive candidate journey. As you stated, due to these challenging times, we are having to conduct our assessment centres virtually and we are pleased to read that you enjoyed the process overall. Regarding your feedback on the interviewer, we apologise for your experience. Many of our team conduct interviews out of hours when the assessment centres are run later in the day, and as with most firms, our interviewers are currently working from home due to the pandemic. However, we appreciate that candidates are giving up their time and we want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and experience in full. I have shared your feedback with the team, to ensure that they always allocate sufficient time for an interview and conduct this in an appropriate setting. We also apologise for the fact that you did not receive your feedback - we have since changed our process to ensure that we call, email and text candidates. If you would like to discuss your experience further and indeed receive feedback, please contact our Recruitment Manager, Joanne.lee@capco.com.

      Interview

Really smooth and well-organised process. Everyone I spoke with was genuinely kind and welcoming, which made it feel much less daunting than expected. The stages were clearly communicated and the team were great at keeping me informed throughout. Came away feeling really positive about the culture.

      Interview

Very efficient process, took around 1 month and 3 weeks to go through CV - group case - individual interview - offer. Group case is not standard consulting case interview, more close to "given a clear situation, bring out the best solution through teamwork". Individual interview is quite straightforward comptency/fit questions. Why capco, why you, walk me through you CV etc.

Video interview consisted of straight forward questions: Introduce yourself, Why consulting, how your experience is beneficial for the job etc however then there was 10 seconds to prepare for final question with no chance to rerecord.
