      Personal Banker Interview

      15 Aug 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Chase

      Interview

I applied online and received a call 2 days later to come for an in person interview. Mind you, I never received an online assessment for the position, which I thought was negative since I had also applied for part time teller and received an assessment right after. Needles to say I went anyway. It was a busy branch and the branch manager was seemingly nice but seemed stuck up and not too personable. However my interview went well since I was offered to meet with the BM's Boss who is the district manager. The BM said they would reach out to me once they spoke to the DM. 12 days later I got a call from the DM's office to meet in two days. This interview with the DM went so well and we had a great conversation. 5 mins after leaving I get a call from the DM saying he wanted me to meet with another branch. I wish he would have told me this before I ordered my uber. -$5 and I reroute to the branch. I get there and waited an hour for this BM. At this point I was frustrated. Why not schedule an interview with the branch for a later time/day to make sure time is not wasted? Get into the BM's cubicle and in comes his headstrong passive aggressive assistant manager. On a busy Friday, your ASM should be on the floor helping the long line and tellers but apparently I needed two males for my interview. They were more like interrogators than interviewers. At one point they even seemed to be looking around like they were bored. I could not believe the level of unprofessionalism and rudeness at this branch. Interruption after interruption I just knew I wasn't going to be considered. The BM also mentioned that if you don't move forward on the online part of the process (i.e assessment) there's no chance of you getting the job. Nice. So why call me and waste my time? 2 weeks passed but I had already moved on and I get a call from the DMs office to meet with yet another branch. Huh? Okay, I went due to the close proximity of my house and gave the benefit of the doubt. The last interview was 7/10. Nice branch manager easygoing conversation, simple questions. No call back. Weird process. Please don't waste people's times. Cancelled my account with chase because of the unprofessionalism.

      Interview

The branch manager was super friendly and easy to talk to. The only downside was that the interview started almost 30 minutes late even though I was on time. I had scheduled it during my lunch break at work, so the delay made things feel a bit rushed.

It was good and very very interesting. Need more clarity on the process and expectations. Will not interview again. Good role not a good fit for me personally. Process was little confusing and communication
