I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Chipotle (New York, NY) in May 2015
Interview
10 minutes prior to my scheduled interview I went in and let them know I was there. The employee offered me a drink and told me to sit down. I waited at a table and there were about 15 other people there for the interview too. The restaurant manager came out 15 minutes after the interview was scheduled. They took 4 of us outside and asked a bunch of simple questions. I got a weird vibe from the manager. All the employees kinda sounded like corporate robots spitting out information and talking about how much they loved their jobs. They asked if anyone had any questions and I asked what they didn't like about their jobs and the two people interviewing had absolutely nothing to say and I find it hard to believe. They also seemed like they got angry that I even asked that even though it's a legitimate question for me to ask. Everyone in my group was very quiet so it was hard for me to make conversation with them. They have very high expectations.
Easy, straight forward questions. Started as a group interview and ended up being offered the job along with 2 other people. It was very casual and no pressure. Interviewer was friendly.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Explain a time when you handled an upset customer?
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
