      Big Data Engineer Interview

      16 Sept 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Comcast (Denver, CO) in Aug 2014

      Interview

Took 1-2 weeks to receive a call from the recruitment team. Interview rounds: 1. Phone screening with Recruiter. It's a casual call where the recruiter tries to get an overall idea of yourself and/or your job motives. Call lasted for 15-20 mins or so. 2. Three telephone interviews back to back - It took another 2 weeks to receive a call. The company is not very prompt with recruitment process and has a very stagnating working strategies. - The first round of telephone interview was with the team lead. The person sounded knowledgeable and very professional. This round of interview majorly focused on Big Data foundations and its ecosystem tools which the company is using currently. I was glad this interview went well. - The second round of interview was with another team lead. A similar set of questions were asked similar to the 1st round. Most of the questions were originated from my resume. This person was not at all professional and I observed lots of ego, pride, frustration and supreme authority during the interview. I was not at all happy with the way the interview was conducted. During the end of the interview when he said "Do you have any questions for me?", I asked if there were any grey areas in my resume that needed any specific elaboration on the skill set, he replied with lots of arrogance that he is the one who's supposed to question me not the other way round. I was really dumb struck with his response. In the world of MNC corporations, this kind of behavior is not at all appreciated. Seems like this person has got issues. - The third round of interview was with the Director. I was glad that this interview went well. This call was least into technical knowledge but was rather behavioral based. This person was very cool and laid back but very professional.
