I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale
Interview
Costco does not post open jobs on their website, they will post on 3rd party job board sites when they are hiring. When you find an open position, apply on the website. Then, take your resume and go in person to the store to introduce yourself to the hiring manager. It might seem like an awkward thing to do but they will be more likely to call you for an interview. They only hire for entry-level positions and they start you at part-time, which is 24 hours. They provide benefits at part-time and they said there is often the opportunity to work more hours if you want. Overall it was a positive straightforward experience.
The first interview was with 2 managers and they asked pretty typical behavior-type questions and they want real examples. You will be good if you look up a list of those types of questions and then practice a few stories from your experience.
For the second interview, it was with a general manager. He verified all of my info, gave me the rundown for the position, and then asked more behavior-type questions. If they like you, they will offer a position then and there. So, I would go for the last interview if you are ready to say yes on the spot and not juggling different interviews at different businesses. I was in the middle of interviewing at a few places, so the timing was not right for me.
Interview questions [5]
Question 1
Tell me about a time a coworker was not being productive and how did you motivate them?
Basic interview process with drug test and one in person interview. They have you come in the office and you talk to the general manager. They ask you to bring your resume and they got back to me the very next day with feedback.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale (Southfield, MI) in Jan 2026
Interview
Was not too hard of an interview. Asked a lot of scenario questions that will help the hiring team understand who you are, so be prepared to give real life examples. I used the STAR method to answer all the questions and I was hired on.
