Anonymous Interview Candidate in London, England
I applied online. I interviewed at Couchbase (London, England) in Apr 2023
Applied on their website, and a few days later I got an email from the recruiter which seem to have been an automated message to book a pre-screen interview. I booked a slot for a specific day and time expecting some kind of confirmation from the recruiter that they would either call or send me a link for a video call. Didn't receive anything and when it got to the interview day I didn't receive any contact from them either. Not the best candidate experience.
- N/A - Didn't get to that stage.

-phone interview with recruiter -interview with hiring manager -interview with teammate -interview with teammate -interview with director -interview with VP -No offer and everything was a waste of time. Companies need to do a better job hiring and not put people through so MUCH trouble and WASTE of time. Worst experience of my life.
- tell me about your experience? tell me about your sales process? tell me about a time you overcame something bad?

Saw this job description for a graduate software engineer position and was delighted to apply. I had to go through a pre-recorded interview to proceed to the next stage. After submission, I was told that someone in the technical support team was interested in having a chat. Obviously, I applied to a software engineer position, so why would you instead offer me a technical support role?! A waste of time.

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Austin, TX
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Couchbase (Austin, TX) in Dec 2022
5 interview, had to come in for two of them. Communication for next stages was very slow to develop, had to give availability multiple times. Wasn’t given a clear picture of how many stages. Last interview was over an hour long with inconsequential questions, plenty of ego as well. Sent me a 3 sentence paragraph saying I didn’t get the job with no details on why they passed. Waste of time and made you feel like they don’t care about people.

I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Couchbase (Bengaluru) in Aug 2022
- multithreading - dsa - cuda - c++ , python, java threads - golang questions - generics in c++ - need to be crystal clear on OS, DBMS(NoSQL) concepts - emphasis on c++/multithreading projects on resume, no importance given to either ML or python projects done (good thing since its a systems based company and applicants dont have ML stuff in resume anyway)
- Implement a spin-lock using c++ to demonstrate its usage

Amazing interview process. First round was couple of easy dsa questions like two sum and find if the array contains 50% of the same element. This was followed by concepts like parallel sort, threads and concurrency. Second round had one design question wherein in I was asked to implement malloc, free and compact function keeing fragmentation concept in mind. Third round was also a design question in which a large file was given and I had to efficiently read and find out prime numbers. Fourth round had one coding question given limited time of 10 mins which I couldn't crack. All in all one enligtining day.
- I have mentioned the questions above
