I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Cvent (Tysons Corner) in Jul 2014
Interview
I was contacted by one of Cvent's technical recruiters and I was given a brief overview of the position. After coming to the conclusion that I would be a good fit for the position, I had a phone interview with a member of the support team. I was asked basic questions like: What kind of programming languages do you know? Do you have experience with relational databases? And some basic networking questions. I did relatively well in the phone interview and was asked to go in for an on-site interview.
I went in for the on-site interview and was interviewed by about six people, usually only one or two people at a time. I was asked about my previous jobs, school work, problem solving questions, and code-tracing questions. I got most of the questions correct, but I did get a few wrong. Overall, I felt like they were generally pleased with my answers.
I left the interview feeling pretty good about my chances of getting the job, however, I was left hanging. I did not hear back from the recruiter or anyone else at the company for a few weeks. I figured this was normal, as I knew they were interviewing other candidates as well. After a month I interviewed the recruiter and asked what my status was and she never e-mailed me or called me back. It has now been 7 MONTHS since the interview and no one has gotten back to me. I e-mailed the recruiter last week, and she still hasn't e-mailed me back. My application status on their website still says that it is "in review." I am shocked by the company's lack of professionalism and their inability to at least tell me that I didn't get the job.
I will report back in a few months, or years, if I ever hear any feedback from Cvent.
