      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Discover (Deerfield, IL) in Feb 2020

      Interview

Four one-hour interviews from senior managers from the DMS program who used behvioral-based interview questions with a set template. Ad hoc questions typically of the HR screening interviews were also asked more informally.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Discover (Riverwoods, IL) in Apr 2019

      Interview

When I initially applied for the job I got an email from the recruiter less than a week later. She emailed me some screen questions, and once I was able to proceed to the next step, she set up a phone screen about a week later. The recruiter was about 10 min late to the call, but very friendly and polite. She was very informative and explained the interview process in detail. I appreciated how thorough she was. We went through the questions and I was invited on the phone to come in for an in-person interview not that same week, but the week after. The team set me up with the details of my appointment a few days before my interview. I then interviewed with several senior managers (4 total). Each session lasting 45 min- 1 hour. Everyone was very friendly. The questions were a mix of technical questions as well as behavioral questions. They of course provided me time to ask questions as well. It's clear that they all love to work there and are very particular about not just finding a good skill fit but also a cultural fit. I had to wait a full week and a business day to get the email to inform me that I didn't get the position. While I was grateful for the experience, I would have loved to have gotten additional feedback from the team who interviewed me to understand my gaps and why I wasn't selected. I do hope the company and team are open to people continuing to apply even after not getting past this step. I truly enjoyed the process and realized I would still love to work there despite not having been selected for this position.
