      Strategic Partner Manager Interview

      4 Jun 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at DoorDash (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2021

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn for the position. We scheduled a phone screen (March 17th), it went well; I followed up via email and LinkedIn but never heard back. I asked multiple times for the specific job poster during that call because I couldn't locate the role online. Three weeks later I get a calender invite out of the blue for a call with the team's Manager. It was scheduled for a 15 min call. I emailed the recruiter to get more information since it's been a while since we last spoke. I finally receive the information regarding the position; after reading through the responsibilities, it was super generic. I finally hop on the call with the hiring manager, and she spends 5 minutes of the call talking about her role and the team's role. When it's my turn to talk about myself, I talk about my experience, as I am talking, her questions were so surface level, and her tone seemed a bit disinterested. Towards the end of call, she asked if I had any questions. I asked her some questions and yet she didn't really answer them directly, again just seemed disinterested and quickly tells me that we have to end the call because she has another call/appointment. Overall from beginning to end, this process was horrible, communication was nonexistent. DoorDash talks about accountability and how they encourage people who work hard to apply. It did not seem that was the case with my experience. They seemed to know exactly what they wanted from the start. Finally, after my horrible 15-minute phone call I email the recruiter to follow up next steps. I never got a response from my recruiter, INSTEAD I receive an automated email saying I was not a good fit. I do not understand how some of these companies operate? The lack of human empathy is disheartning. Not only that, but I probably wont give my business as a consumer, if this is how they treat potential employees I can only imagine how they treat their vendors.
