      Strategy and Operations Manager Interview

      30 Jan 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DoorDash (New York, NY) in Dec 2021

      Interview

After completing an initial interview with the role's assigned recruiter, the next round of the interview process was to complete an case-type assessment to demonstrate the applicant's ability to review and analyze a dataset and then be able to pull actionable insights and format such insights in presentable manner. I was extremely disappointed in the DoorDash recruitment team in their handling of this round, as after submitting my assessment (which requires a commitment of a few hours), I had to wait weeks on end in order (after my multiple failed attempts to reach out to the recruiter) to find out another applicant was selected - without any notes, comments or even any confirmation suggesting my assessment was even reviewed at all. Upon receiving notice that another candidate was selected, the recruiter had provided me with the notion that I would be considered for similar roles in the pipeline, and would be able to start my applicant status from the current round of interviews (post-assessment). After confirming with the recruiter my interest to be further considered for these other roles via email, I have still not heard from the recruitment team (have sent a couple of emails now) regarding my request to learn more of the timeline of these recruitment cycles as well as about the roles themselves. I truly feel that this was the WORST interview process I have partaken in. I am extremely disappointed in the recruitment team, for requiring an applicant to commit hours of their time and effort to an complete a lengthy assessment only to not be reviewed is absolutely unacceptable.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at DoorDash in Jun 2025

      Interview

Had a recent interview process that started off fine but ended up feeling like a waste of time. The initial phone screen with the recruiter was positive (straightforward, professional, and gave me a good sense of the role). But the hiring manager interview was… odd. They gave a quick rundown of the position, asked me one question (“tell me about your background”), and that was pretty much it. No real follow-up, no questions about my relevant experience, and no opportunity to actually talk about what I could bring to the role. It didn’t feel like a real interview - more like a box they had to check. So I wasn’t surprised to hear I wasn’t moving forward. Just disappointed that there wasn’t any meaningful conversation or engagement. Felt like a missed opportunity all around.
