      Interview

I interviewed with DoorDash about 1 year ago so I might miss some minor details. In total I had 5 different interviews and the process took me over 2 months. I was surprised by how the process ended. 1- 30 minute interview with Strat Ops Manager 2- Take home assignment. This took me about 10 hours and I used Power BI to come to my recommendations. I was pretty confident with my solutions because I knew they were unique and well thought out. It took about a week for the recruiter to get back to me. 3 / 4 - Case study interview (1) / Behavioral (1). Here I was asked how DD can improve their delivery times in NYC. My current position leans more towards data strategy so the process of a traditional case was fairly new to me. However, I passed and made it to the next round. It took a week for the recruiter to get back to me. 4 / 5 - Here is where things went south. These interviews were more about my past experiences and a couple questions related to DD. The first interviewer, another manager, seemed disinterested. I didn’t care much because maybe she was having a bad day. Then I interviewed with the VP of strat ops. The first thing he said was “well I didn’t care to read your resume”. He then proceeded to quiz me on my background which is fairly standard but he did it in a way where I was thinking to myself “I cannot work for this guy”. Then came this - I was interviewing for a different strategy role than I applied for! I had gone through 5 previous interviews with a certain role in mind, with email confirmation of the role, but he proceeded to tell me that I was applying for another position and I had gotten it wrong. At this point I had spent 5 weeks, countless hours of preparation, studying for a specific role. I couldn’t help myself but laugh. Another week went by and I got an email vague rejection, even after I reached out to the recruiter letting her know of the mishap that occurred during the last interview. Looking back on it, I’m sure it wasnt the right fit. P.S. Be sure not to say anything about how DoorDash was initially a delivery service, even if its true.

      Interview

First a screening call with HR, then a take home analytical test, followed by two virtual panel interview rounds with 2-3 people each round. Some of the interviews were behavioral and some were analytical.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at DoorDash in Jun 2025

      Interview

Had a recent interview process that started off fine but ended up feeling like a waste of time. The initial phone screen with the recruiter was positive (straightforward, professional, and gave me a good sense of the role). But the hiring manager interview was… odd. They gave a quick rundown of the position, asked me one question (“tell me about your background”), and that was pretty much it. No real follow-up, no questions about my relevant experience, and no opportunity to actually talk about what I could bring to the role. It didn’t feel like a real interview - more like a box they had to check. So I wasn’t surprised to hear I wasn’t moving forward. Just disappointed that there wasn’t any meaningful conversation or engagement. Felt like a missed opportunity all around.
