      Marketing Interview

      8 Apr 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Dr. Squatch in Feb 2025

      Interview

Recruiter, Hiring manager intro call, presentation / case study exercise based off of a data set you are given and then a panel interview for the presentation. I thought all the calls and intros went well, I felt pretty good about it. I was advised for the presentation that they liked / were expecting a lot of visuals / visualizations. Timing and communication for the presentation were somewhat of an issue - I think there was a disconnect between expectations or communication. First there was a 2 week gap between delivering the case study and presenting, I didn't hear back at all for about a week so wasn't sure if they ghosted. I was told not to spend more than a couple hours on the presentation but then in the materials they advised 8 hours. Even spending more than that the feedback I received was that it was too surface level, and there seemed to be an expectation to be a business expert on things I couldn't have known outside of what was given, even though the guidance was to use the data set provided only.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Imagine you are working with the Head of Growth, who wants to have an outsider perspective on the performance and potential pathways for growth strategy. Analyze the data set, drive key insights and propose a recommendation on the growth plan moving forward.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Dr. Squatch

      Interview

The phone screening with HR was really easy, and she was extremely nice. The next round, where I met with someone from marketing, also seemed to go well. I felt good about the conversation and where it was heading. However, I didn’t get the role, which is fine. I asked for feedback and received the response, “too textbook and not creative enough.” Given that I only had 45 minutes to interview, I can only explain so much. It’s disappointing, especially since the role has been open for months, and they still can't fill it. That says a lot about a company that struggles to make decisions. In the end, I’m glad I avoided this team. I’ve had a micro manager before, where no matter what you did, it was never good enough.

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Dr. Squatch in Apr 2024

      Interview

Had screener, 2 interviews, project and panel presentation. Unfortunately like others have said, this company will ghost you even if you've gotten to final stages with them. Felt very disorganized.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      Lots of hypothetical and behavioral.
