    Staff Accountant Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in San Diego, CA (US)
    No Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at EDF (San Diego, CA (US)).

    Interview

The first interview involves the recruiter, lead accountant, and accounting manager. It was pretty straight-forward, as they asked about my previous work experience and personal strengths/weaknesses. I thought it went well, but I later found out that they are looking for people who are assertive and extroverted, which is not me. If you are more on the quiet side, then you will need to speak up and have several questions in mind for them during the interview.

    Interview Questions

    • If you came up with an answer to a problem that differs from your co-worker's answer, how would you resolve the difference?   1 Answer

    Interview

It was a typical interview, they asked for my background and sought out to see if I had the knowledge for the position. HR was alot of situational questions and HR typical questions.

    Interview Questions

    • I just had trouble with HR, their questions were difficult and I was not completely prepared. Be ready for situational questions and "what would you do here?"   Answer Question

    Negotiation

They initially came with a low offer and said this position does not pay that much, but they do negotiate, I went up 25% from my initial offer.

It was fairly simple and straightforward. They explained what the job entailed. It was a very casual and laid back experience. Not too many questions were asked. I was interviewed with two people who were very polite and interested in what I had to bring to the table.

    Account Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in San Diego, CA (US)
    No Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at EDF (San Diego, CA (US)) in May 2018.

    Interview

I applied online and was contacted about a month after for an initial phone interview with the Hiring Manager, basic questions going over my resume and how my experience would relate to the role. About 2 weeks later, I was contacted by HR to set up an onsite interview with the team. I met one on one with HR, then a manager from another department and lastly a panel interview with the Hiring Manager and team members from the department. The panel interview consisted of the team asking me questions, mostly behavioural to see if I would be a good fit. Overall an ok interview experience. No feedback was provided post onsite interview which is the only flipside.

    Administrative Assistant Interview

    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at EDF (Washington, DC (US)).

    Interview

I came in to the office at the decided time, where they had forgotten to put me on the list at the front desk. Luckily the woman was understanding, and allowed me to take the elevator up to the floor EDF was on. I waited about 20 minutes before someone came to see me, and then she apologized and said she had to finish something and would be right back. I waited a while longer until she returned. She brought me to a room with a laptop set up, and told me I would be speaking via Skype with someone I was under the impression I would be meeting with in person. The connection was not great and it was difficult to hear. Beyond that, the questions were straightforward, and her manner was extremely stiff. I left feeling all right about the interview but a bit strange about the setup
