Interview
The interview process exactly matched the steps listed in the job description and communication was very clear throughout. It consisted of four rounds over four weeks. First was a short online personality and aptitude assessment. It contained some basic personality questions, Wonderlic-style logic and reasoning questions, and core JavaScript and C# questions. Next was an interview with the senior technical recruiter who was very knowledgeable on the role and company. I was then given a take home coding challenge. I appreciated that the code challenge left plenty of room for personal preferences and wasn't overly restrictive. Finally I had an interview with the hiring manager and another architect to review my code challenge, past experiences and discuss other technical questions. Overall everyone was incredibly friendly and the process was very transparent which made it not feel high pressure at all.

When it comes to tech interviews, Emergent is the benchmark.
Everything is laid out on the careers page from their website. Online application & assessment, initial interview with technical recruiter, at-home coding challenge, technical interview with the team.
This is a great way to gauge a candidate and know that everyone who works here has met the same expectation to be an excellent candidate.
Interviewing is not a perfect science, but this experience has been wonderful, low pressure, and actually a great way to understand someone's ability.

Very positive experience. The interview process with Emergent was smooth, professional, and enjoyable. It began with a recruiter screen, followed by a coding challenge to create a simple website with search functionality for software products. After that, I had two technical interviews — both attended by a director-level engineer and a senior architect. The conversations were focused yet relaxed, with relevant technical questions tailored to the position. The team created a welcoming atmosphere, and the discussion-based format made the experience very positive overall.
