I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Farmers Insurance Group (Albuquerque, NM) in Aug 2015
Interview
I came in for an initial interview expecting it to be a position filing papers for another agent, was pleasantly surprised when I was told what the interview was actually for, two seperate interviews, one with the HR/recruiter, and another with the district manager, they told me they would be in touch and they called me a few days later. I got licensed and slowly started working more and more.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If I was currently working elsewhere because I would need to have another form of income while my agency grew.
Was basic and tedious asking me questions about my prior work history so make sure that I understood the job role. Overall it was not difficult to formulate an answer to the questions.
The interview was professional and conversational. The agent clearly explained the role, expectations, and growth opportunities. I was asked about my communication skills, work ethic, and goals. Overall, it felt welcoming, informative, and focused on long-term potential rather than pressure
Detailed with multiple calls. Explained in detail the onboarding and training processes including the financial obligations with starting an agency. There was a personality test to help determine fit with the company.
