      Manager Interview

      19 Aug 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fitbit (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

I applied through their website and received an email from their recruiter about a week later. My work experience didn't match exactly (I work in a different field but virtually identical transferable skillset) and I was an out-of-town candidate. The recruiter seemed very open to just about anything I said and her questions for me were quite vague. I had the impression that they were interviewing just about anyone for the role. I think my work history got me through to the second phone interview with the department lead. The 2nd phone interview was a joke. Scheduling for the 2nd interview didn't hold... the dept lead missed the first scheduled call an was 15 mins. late to the re-schedule. I was only asked maybe 3 questions and it was obvious that when I was speaking, the interviewer was not interested. The whole thing felt as if I was inconveniencing him and that I was wasting my time. The call ended by the interviewer telling me that he was 'getting kicked out of the conference room and needed to go'. What a joke. I was not told the outcome of the interview and discovered I was not selected via Jobsvite website. This was confirmed with the recruiter through email. Which took 5 days for a response. This company has momentum in the marketplace for their 4 products but won't do well long-term judging by their company organization. I wouldn't recommend pursuing a position.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The interview had typical questions, "How did you hear of the company", "tell me your experience in xxxxx department in your current role".

      Manager Interview

      13 Jun 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Fitbit in Jun 2016

      Interview

Applied online over 30 days after the position was posted, so was surprised to get an e-mail the very next day to schedule a time for a phone screen. Granted, I met the position requirements perfectly, and it was basically for what I'm currently doing with another company. The interviewer was very friendly. Got an e-mail several days later saying that due to the high volume of candidates for the role, they selected other candidates to move forward. I wouldn't be surprised if at that point they were actually a lot further along in the process with other candidates and just did my phone screen as a "backup."

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What do you know about Fitbit, why do you want to work here, why are you leaving your current company, what are your salary expectations, a couple job-specific questions about what I'm currently doing although not many
