I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Fortinet in Feb 2022
Interview
I was referred so I skipped straight to the 3-hour interview. Had 3 interviewers who all asked about my resume and a coding question. The interview was over Hackerrank's interview platform.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First question was counting number of incorrect prices in an array. He then asked about improvements that could be made with data structures and threads.
Second question was converting an int to string with and without using mod and division.
Third question was counting the minimum amount of swaps needed such that an array contains all even numbers before odd numbers.
Received a Hackerrank with some questions about REST APIs, general CS fundamentals and a coding question on comparing two strings.
Upon completion, was invited for a final onsite with 4 interviewers.
I was asked no behavioral questions. It started off as a brief introduction, then a bunch of conceptual questions about networking such as "Describe TCP" as well as CS fundamental questions such as "Describe a hash table."
After about 20 minutes of this, was the coding portion consisting of Leetcode Mediums. Here are the problems:
1. Valid Substrings
2. Minimum Difference Pairs
3. Minimum Number of Substitutions
4. Course Schedule
Interviewers and hiring manager were gracious, but ultimately I declined because I wasn't interested in the work specific to the team.
