      Risk and Compliance Lead Interview

      20 Feb 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Freelancer (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2026

      Interview

They reached out and we had an lukewarm initial call, then they went silent for two months. The recruiter reached back out and rushed me into a call with the CFO and others who then didn't show up for our first meeting, and were unimpressed and hostile on the second. The condescending immediate follow up email was a nice touch too! To be completely honest, their recruiting process was disjointed, impersonal, and broken. At no point was there any real clarity or communication. However, I doubt that's of any concern to the C level, since they are all Freelancer.com lifers and unlikely to be on the other end of that process.
