I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gaia (Louisville, CO) in Jun 2019
Interview
I was congratulated in email for making it to the next phase of the interview process and invited to come in for a personal interview - I met with many different employees of Gaia and they bought me lunch there. Lastly I met the camera person I would be working with.
My biggest frustration after all was said and done was NEVER HEARING BACK one way or another, even after reaching out a few weeks later. I realize they have their own timeline but to not be straight up about the decision and the process is very unfortunate. I found out from someone else they supposedly send out Gaia mugs if interviewees do not hear back after a certain time period to thank them, but I never got an offer or a mug after 7 months now. I see now the position is removed from their Open Positions (most of them stay up indefinately) so they either decided not to fill that position at all, or they actually did fill it and no longer needed to interview so many camera operator wanna-be's, while all the other production jobs are still listed on their website to apply to and have been for literally months or years.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The camera person had me do some skills to see how adept I would be in doing grip work primarily, on their equipment which supports the cameras and lighting.
Thank you very much for your straightforward review. We sorry to hear that you had a neutral experience, not hearing back can be extremely frustrating. We do send out Gaia mugs as a thank you for your interest in Gaia, appreciating your time in our hiring process and if it didn't go as smoothly as possible an extra appreciation. About 20% of the mugs get sent back to us due to the address not being correct. In this case we can absolutely send you a mug. Please e-mail your updated address to Jobs@gaia.com or the person you were working with and we can add you to the next list for delivery.
