I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at General Mills (Methuen, MA) in Jul 2012
Interview
Brief, a family member already worked for the company, so it was an easy process for me. The interview included regular questions about personality fit, availability, career outlook, a drug screening, and then an orientation on safety guidelines.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills (Chanhassen, MN) in Jul 2014
Interview
Phone interview then face to face. They want you to answer any questions with safety first. So if they ask you what would you do if half the lines baked good were going into the freezer uncooked, you would say, "stop the line and call maintenance/management." Saying something like I would keep the line running and try to fix it on the fly would be a red flag. Answering a question with a production first mentality instead of safety first mentality is a red flag. They might sit you down with multiple people or in a room with multiple applicants. They will give you a plant tour and talk about the company.
