      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at GitHub in Apr 2022

      Interview

There were about 5 levels including a quick chat with the recruiter, meeting the HM, technical tests and technical interview and meeting CSM. I must say, that GitHub has really kind people at every level. They always showed care and professionalism.

      Question 1

They are really keen on diversity and inclusion. I was asked different questions on this topic at two different levels. One I remember was: Mention one situation in your job (current or past) that you have contributed to or displayed diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

      Interview

I was contacted shortly after applying on their career website. They told me the position I applied to was already staffed, but asked if I was interested in other open positions or if I preferred to wait for the original role to open again. I said I preferred waiting as the other options weren't as appealing. 2 months after, I reached out again since the original role had opened on their career site again. I had a reply within 1 week, and everything moved very, very fast: all three interviews were scheduled in a single day (apparently a new process since 2022) for the week after. My position also required completing a technical exercise at home. This was challenging (due to a certain learning curve involving GitHub APIs) but nothing "crazy" if you have past development experience. The interviews ran smoothly and on time, by people in relevant positions whom I enjoyed meeting. No question was out of place, at the contrary, I felt all questions were relevant and mainly revolving around my approach to work, collaboration with colleagues and customers as well as culture fit. Everyone allowed time for my questions and were genuinely open and kind to answer. The next business day I was being scheduled to a wrap-up call for the day after, were I learnt I would be offered the position. I was impressed by the sheer speed of the process and professionalism of the team. This was the best interviewing process I went through in my career.
