      Program Coordinator Interview

      27 Jun 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at GitHub

      Interview

      1. Call with recruiter 2. Interview with hiring manager 3. Interview with another program manager I'd be supporting 4. Skip level interview (?) (interview with your potential manager's manager, but not sure if this step is still accurate cause my interview got cancelled) Honestly it started off really nice. Everyone I spoke to was amazing and the response times were pretty good. However, my skip level interview...that's where things sorta hit the fan for me. It took a bit longer to schedule, which is fine for me, but communication was a bit lacking with updates. I had to constantly reach out to see where the scheduling process was at. And right when they were able to finalize the interview, I get a second email saying they need to cancel and reschedule. I understand rescheduling but that never happened. I constantly followed up for three weeks, only receiving one actual update in that time saying the recruiter would get back to me in a few days. That didn't happen. Until finally on the 3rd week I received an update from the recruiter that they won't be moving forward with my application. I hope Github makes some changes and creates an overall positive experience for applicants. I genuinely enjoyed those who I spoke to during the interview process, but there's obviously a bottleneck that's creating so many negative experiences. I interviewed at Github starting April 2022 and got the rejection email in June 2022.

      Interview

They required you to sign a NDA. They disclosed that there was going to be 7 interviews to get to the end. I often needed to wait a week at a time to schedule the next interview.
