The process started with the initial phone screen. Then, it was followed by the Hiring manager screen. And finally, there was the on-site panel interviews. The overall process was pleasant; everyone was polite. However, the core technical problem in the on-site interviews indicated that they were looking for someone who had already had some experience in the legacy system written in VB.NET and Web Forms. Many developers like me only scratched surface of such systems before we started focusing on new technologies back in 2010s. Of course, the expectation makes sense, though people like me won't stand a chance even if we can quickly pick up the technologies and evolve the system to newer tech stack.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Grange Insurance Association (Seattle, WA) in Jan 2024
Interview
The interview process was very smooth. There were three parts. The first was a phone interview with HR asking basic questions about the job and why I want to work for Grange. The second was a more in depth, online interview where I talked about my work experience and answered questions related to the job I applied for. The last interview was at the Grange office in front of three people. At this interview, I answered questions , talked about myself, and talked about my work experience and how it applies to Grange. Then, I answered a SQL technical question on their computer.
