The invitation to an interview came pretty smoothly. I found HR contact information on one of the internship websites and sent them an email. I even had to change our first appointment because of an emergency, but the manager (?) was very understanding and we settled on a different day for the interview. Now as for the actual interview, I was clearly very ill-informed and unqualified for the position as I had no previous retail experience and was not studying fashion or PR. I was also running late on the actual day of the interview, and I looked disgusting with sweat dripping down my face.
This was also the "fun" internship I applied to just for the heck of it during my gap semester, and honestly I wouldn't have hired me if I were the hiring manager. As any pushy luxury fashion icon like Gucci should be, anyone aspiring to intern there should know the company inside and out, and have intelligent explanations for wanting for work for Gucci. Also make sure that you look the part. The hiring manager (unfortunately I don't remember her exact title) was absolutely gorgeous, and everyone at the office was dressed very sharp. Not surprised for a classic Fifth Ave luxury brand PR office.
