      Business Analyst Interview

      16 Oct 2009
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Guidepoint in May 2009

      Interview

Overall a disappointing experience with this firm. It's very unprofessional when a firm makes a candidate go through all the interview rounds and then does not respond to email, phone calls, or provide any feedback, even a sorry your skills do not match. So here's my experience: I got a call from the HR after submitting my resume for this position online. 1st step was the phone interview which was easy and went pretty well and I was called for an in person the next day. Everything seemed to go well that day. The only person who interviewed me was the CTO and we definitely seemed to connect. He asked a few technical questions about my knowledge of open source tools, ms sql server, right left joins etc. He told me right there that I was a good fit for the position. The HR calls me the next day and says that I was a good fit and she would get back to me in a few days. Hopeful, I waited and waited till a couple of weeks passed. I decided to call them and leave a message for the HR. I wait another week, call her, and send her follow-up email asking if there was any decision or feedback from me. And no response! Besides the interview experience, here's the take - company is trying to position itself as a research service provider. Think about this market. There is not much of it. Also, its a small firm with not much of a foundation or structure. Opportunities might exist but in my opinion they had their head inflated because they were hiring in the recession. This is would definitely not be a career. A job, maybe.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Guidepoint

      Interview

Extensive and detailed. The process was 5 rounds and included written and skills testing. Very in-depth and they expect you to be able to explain exactly what the job entails and understand what the company does. Every conversation was nice and not one-sided so I felt informed at the end of the process and like I was able to explain myself well.

Had an enjoyable interview process with this firm. They asked great questions and conversed well. Overall, it would be fair to say that the company Guidepoint runs a fair interview system.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Guidepoint (New York, NY) in Feb 2014

      Interview

Only one phone screen followed by two rounds of five consecutive thirty minute one on one interviews. Mostly about recent experience and project work related to the job description. There was a significant delay between the final interview and the offer, about three weeks.
