I applied online and I got a call about 5 days later for a phone interview. I was in a shop so I was so nervous but I didn't want to tell them to call me back I thought that would look bad. So I went ahead with it. She asked for my availability, closest store to me, experience, my idol, what I like about h&m. It was fairly straight forward and lasted about 7 minutes. At the end of that, I was invited for a face to face interview that Friday.
It was at the h&m headquarters in Dublin I'm guessing, it was just a big office space. I was only interviewed by one person, a woman. She was really nice. Asked a lot of questions but felt like a conversation with a friend. I was keeping eye contact, smiling and laughing. We even had a small talk about Pokemon go! At the end, she said she would call in the next 2 weeks to say if I got the job or not.
6 days later I was called again to go to a store for a practical interview. This was about 30/40 minutes on the shop floor. When I got there I had a small chat with the manager she was just telling me what would happen for the day. And then I was paired with a girl who already worked there.
First we went to the stock room and tagged clothes etc . I met some of the other workers too and they were all very nice. After this we went to put the stock out on the shop floor and cleared all the rails. Which was quite straightforward. After this we went to the fitting room and I had to greet the customers and ask how many items they had etc. We then organised the rails in the fitting room which was the hardest but also quite straightforward.
After this we went back to the mangers office and the girl I was paired with gave feedback on how I did. And I had to say how I thought I did and ask any questions that I had. I got very good feedback and the manager was impressed. For this role, there were no vacancies available at that moment, not for a couple of weeks anyway. But she said the woman who interviewed me had great things to say so she wanted to get me in ASAP!
After that she said she would call in a few days but that I did very well. About 4 days later she called back saying I was successful and how I felt about the whole interview process.
I had to wait a couple of weeks for another call for induction, it's not usually like this, I believe this was just because I was waiting for a vacancy. She called yesterday telling me to come in for a paid induction day Thursday!
Overall great but quite long process. Just be laid back. (Btw I wore black trousers, superstars and a blouse to the interview & jeans, boots and a top to the practical)
