I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HDR (Charlotte, NC) in Jan 2021
Interview
The interview process at HDR for the Project Coordinator position was pretty straightforward, not too tricky, but not overly casual either. It took place as a round-table discussion with several of the principals, which made it feel collaborative rather than high-pressure. They asked a mix of general background questions and project-related topics to understand my approach to coordination and teamwork.

How I felt about sustainable design and its role in projects.
Easy process, 3 rounds of interview. First HR screening, then interview with supervisor, lastly HR interview to go over the job once more. All done online since I wasn't local. No relocation benefits. Asked about my experience, skills, work ethic, etc.

Interview
I had a really positive experience throughout HDR’s interview process. It moved quickly and was well-organized, which I appreciated. Everyone I spoke with was kind, thoughtful, and genuinely accommodating. Rather than trying to poke holes or find reasons not to hire me, I felt like the team was truly rooting for me and focused on getting to know me and how I could contribute to the role. It made the whole process feel collaborative and respectful — one of the best interview experiences I've had.
