I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Halliburton (Mumbai) in Oct 2012
Interview
Off campus: A written test with moderate level mechanical engineering and electrical questions and lately they have added aptitude as well. After 1-2 hours, I was called for interview. I was told about the result after 1 month and was given the offer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Interview questions really depend upon which department you are for. For example, sperry manager may ask you the toughest of question about petroleum engineering but coiled tubing/wireline/perforating may ask you mechanical engineering problems. Managers will try to scare you off by picturing the conditions of workplace. My manager actually in a way told me that I may die on an offshore platform and asked me if i am not scared. Of course, I was scared but then accident can happen anywhere. Infact, oilfield had less death rate than a machine workshop industry. So, be prepared for such questions. Apart from this, he asked me very simple engineering products such as how does a fan work or how a hand pump sucks water from the earth. What would happen if you touch a live wire.
HR scheduled a Teams interview with my manager. It took about 30 mins and I got a verbal offer after about 2 weeks. After that, I did a few rounds of medical check-ups, which took a few weeks. Then got a contract after that was passed.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Halliburton in Jun 2022
Interview
1st round was basic resume questions and more info about the job. 2nd round was behavioral questions and lasted about an hour. It's a really easy interview if you practice.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Halliburton (Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi) in Mar 2022
