I applied online. I interviewed at Hertz (Bonita Springs, FL) in Apr 2015
Interview
During the HERTZ initial build in SWFL, I interviewed 3 times over the phone within 2 months, all successful. My final phone interview was with a new executive manager they hired, a bit on the cocky side, and more interested in me doing research on him than his interviewing me (who he was, etc). Finally, a live interview happened (in person), where I was supposed to meet this new manager....he was a 'no show' and had someone else do the interview for him. BTW My background is in cyber security...his was in selling space in the 'cloud', mine is protecting data in the cloud.....I'm not sure, but I think I became a bit of a threat. During the final phone interview with him and the live interview that was supposed to happen, the questions became focused on cyber security....which was not the job I was applying for.....either way, it worked out well that I was not chosen, it would have been a miserable ride with someone so arrogant. I wound up with a wonderful position with another company, where my boss is brilliant and incredibly confident.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
(on final phone interview with new manager) Did you look me up? Do you know who I am?
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hertz in Nov 2009
Interview
HR screening interview followed by meeting w/hiring manager. Hiring manager seemed to be more interested in a current production issue than anything I had to say. If this issue was so critical, I would not have minded if he postponed the meeting. Instead he asked me some situational interview questions and i could tell that he was not paying attention. For the first time ever, not only did i feel that i was wasting my time in an interview, but i swore that his company would lose a loyal customer as a result of his actions. I am sorry, but it might be an employers market right now, but that is still no excuse to treat someone with this lack of respect.
