      Interview

The interview process took 2 weeks. There were three main parts; an online assessment, a virtual interview and a final in-person interview. The online assessment focuses on your math and cognitive abilities. The virtual interview is a standard interview. Questions asked focused on your experience. The final interview is a 2-hour in-person interview broken into 4 parts. A round with peers, managers, senior manager and the head of technology. In this stage, they're focused on your experience and will ask for more technical details. They're also focused on your collaborative experience. There will also be a technical round focused on fundamentals. Overall the experience was good. I used STAR method to structure my answers. However, we're in an employers job market. There's no rush to hire so if you're not an exact fit, it makes sense for both parties to keep searching Note - Before the final interview, you'll need to submit referrals so be prepared. Be prepared to ask questions at any point in time. It shows interest in the position and you'll hear a lot of interesting and inspiring stories

      Interview

30 Minute pre-screen with HR 40 Minute meeting with Group On 2nd Interview I did very well. I talked with 5 heads of departments for an IT job. I talked about basic experience and what I could do. I informed them that I have been self employed for 3 years and out of IT because of the bad job market. They liked me and it went forward. Then it got ridiculous. After that interview, they wanted to move forward. But demanded minimum of 5 and recommended 10 Work References as just a next step! I have moved out of state years ago. I don't keep work references in touch and I've been self employed. But they DEMAND 5 work references and they have to be managers! I said again I don't have that many. I only have 2. I declined the offer. I sent an official No Thank you. Then, they sent me a rejection letter as if I hadn't told them no first. It's so insulting to tell them to take a hike and then they send me a rejection letter. Here's the 3rd step (of many more I'm sure) "Thank you for meeting with us for a Webex interview regarding our Full Stack Developer position. We would like to proceed in our hiring process with your reference checks. We use Harver to facilitate this process. You will receive an email from Harver powered by Checkster to begin. You may need to check your Junk/Spam folder to find it. We require that you invite by either email or text a minimum of 5 references (raters). Please feel free to send 7-10 references. The raters should include a mix of either current or former supervisors, subordinates and peers. Type of Reference Minimum to invite - 5 Time Recommendations Supervisors 2 All for the last 5 years Peers 3 Within the last 5 years Subordinates Within the last 5 years Please note that friends or individuals without a work relationship will not be considered as relevant references. Additionally, no family members should be included unless there is a working relationship but this information should be shared with us prior to completing the reference check. We would like to complete this process within 5 days, so make sure to have your raters respond in a timely manner. The information we obtain will remain confidential and we will only receive the data in aggregated format for both you and your raters' privacy. Please make sure that your raters expect to receive your email in order to ensure the timely completion of this critical process."
