An overly complicated interview process (especially for the advertised salary) which will turn away most good engineers when market conditions improve.
Several rounds of interviews including technical screenings and a take-home system design task. The early rounds were straightforward, but the design review was unexpectedly focused on trying to infer specific technology products, rather than discussing the design solution or trade-offs. Catching me off guard as I was expecting a true design conversation.
There were inaccurate references to services presented with a condescending tone, which reduced my confidence in the panel. The overall experience ended on a negative note with a frankly rude rejection email.
I would strongly recommend having a dedicated recruiter or hiring coordinator involved to ensure a more respectful interview experience.

Interview
Spent many days and weeks throughout the interview process, only to be rejected in the final round.
The process included a technical round with a senior/head, another technical round with team members, a case study followed by an hour-long debrief, and a final round with heads of different divisions.
The initial rounds were well-organized and engaging except for the last one, felt the expectations for the role were quite high compared to the pay range.

Question 1
A lot of STAR Type questions with obvious tech related questions.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HotDoc (Melbourne) in Jan 2023
Interview
Team seemed fine, they are seeking people with strong sales skills and perhaps a bit more push that I was comfortable with. There wasn't any warmth from the panel, which put me off. At some point someone's housemate walked through the background in a bra..
The energy was a bit chaotic start up to me.

Question 1
If I would want to participate in after work social events and team building things. Felt like an intense culture where you would have to make the job your life.
