ITW Process/Quality Engineer interview questions

I was reached out by HR to schedule a zoom call with herself and a director. Call was short and the director mainly wanted check if I was fit for the job and if the job fit me. Then they booked me for a plant tour and another interview with their chief chemist. That interview lasted the full hour it was booked for and was extremely difficult. I was flown out, all expenses paid for the interview but the "all expenses paid" was a headache because both the rental and the hotel weren't prepaid for, so I had to put my own card down and deal with getting reimbursed later. It wasn't that bad but I was just caught off guard because I assumed everything would get taken care of on their end. I had a great plant tour and in person interview. I thought I presented myself well and was up to the challenge the director was telling me it was going to be. He told me he'd have his selection by next week. I waited 1.5 weeks before reaching out and then HR tells me I need to wait another week. Finally the day comes where HR said they'd let me know and they don't email me all day. I send an email at 5 PM and they email me back right after saying I was rejected and the director was going to start the search again with a whole new pool of employees... Felt strung along and felt my time was wasted all for me to chase my own rejection.
