I recently went through a rather unexpected interview experience, and I’m still trying to process what exactly happened.
It began with an online group discussion and self-introduction round, mainly to assess communication skills. I cleared that stage and was invited for the offline interview process.
During the offline round, I was once again asked to introduce myself and answer a few questions — again focused on communication. I was then sent to the technical round, even though I clearly mentioned I come from a non-technical background.
Surprisingly, in the technical round, the interviewer kept repeating the same questions multiple times, possibly to test my reactions or catch inconsistencies. Despite this, I did my best to respond calmly and honestly.
In the end, I was told that I was rejected due to "weak communication skills."
But here's the twist — a few hours later, they offered me a job in Graphic Design.
I'm genuinely confused. What just happened?
Why reject someone for communication and then offer a creative role?
