I applied for a JavaScript developer as a fresher.
The first day they took 1 hour written test which consists of 25 questions of Aptitude, 25 questions of ReactJs and 25 questions on JavaScript which was some objective and some of them were writing code in JavaScript. After passing the written test I got the call for the interview, I went there and they made me sit there for 1.25 hrs, after that my interview begins and they started off with Html basic then asked me what made me learn JavaScript language.
Then after this, they started on JavaScript questions like Closures, IIFE, scope-chaining, call stack, event loop, object methods and properties and they go on deep in JavaScript, it was not looking that they were taking the interview as a fresher level but with expecting some experience with the candidate and then they made me write some code on paper and it goes that for a while. The interviewer then opened his laptop and do some coding in there and after getting some solution, he then asked me same question but on paper, most of the time the interviewer first check his code on the laptop then asked the same on the paper which I taught that is not cool, there should be no laptop when interview is conducting what's the use of interviewer if again and again, they need to check their code on system and then ask me based upon the result they got. This ordeal goes on for 1.5 hrs and after that when I asked about the feedback they responded with good feedback on JavaScript and told me some concepts are there that I need to revisit and have to understand properly.
After the interview got over they asked me to wait outside as HR will tell my result for next round, then HR came and told about my result as said there will be another round which will be informed by another hr, the interview would take place tomorrow or the day after tomorrow as the dates will be confirmed through the mail. I went home happily, told my parents about this and they were happy. The very next day I got the mail from the HR at afternoon stating that I was failed in their evaluation and try again after 3 months, I was like what the hell that just happened, yesterday I passed their evaluation and the very next day they rejected me, wow!.
