I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Insight (Denver, CO) in Apr 2014
Interview
Recommended by departing Account Executive, I submitted my resume and cover letter in person. One week later had a face to face interview with the hiring manager. That went well and I was told I'd be moving forward. Four weeks transpired with limited response from the hiring manager. Finally, I was contacted to schedule the next face to face interview. That went well and I was told I was one of 2 or 3 final candidates. A final step may be going to Tempe to meet with other managers and tour the facility, I was told to follow up the following week if I hadn't been contacted yet which I did. I continued attempting to follow up for over a month. No response. Contacted the recruiter to find out if I was still in consideration and was told I was one of the two final candidates and should have heard from the hiring manager by that time. The recruiter said they would contact the hiring manager to get status and try to get him to contact me. Ten days later I received a call from the hiring manager that he had chosen another candidate that had "more software sales experience" than me. He came from a network hardware manufacturer.
Insight recruiter reached out via Indeed. Took the opportunity to interview, rather unprofessional as the recruiter seemed willfully unprepared but asked standard questions in regards to sales experience. After first contact offered to meet with hiring manager at office location
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Insight (Bristol, England) in Nov 2025
Interview
first stage with HR, general questions, going over CV, company info. Second stage with a sales manager and sales director, detailed questions about CV, sales cycles, strategies. Personal questions as well.
The interview process was a phone interview first. Than a in person one. They wanted to know about my experience and strengths. They did make me leave a voice mail. I doubt they make you do that anymore though.
