I applied for the position and received a request to speak with the recruiter. That conversation went well, and I was given a date and time to speak with the manager of the position. After a successful phone interview with her, I received a writing challenge. It was pretty standard with there being an exercise to edit one of their blogs and create a content inventory.
Two days after submitting the exercise, I received a request to schedule the onsite interview. For the onsite, I interviewed one on one with a team lead, the team manager and a senior writer. After meeting the senior writer, I met the rest of the team. It seemed less like they wanted to make sure you were a good fit for the role and more that you were a good cultural fit.
Once those interviews concluded, I was sent on my way. I sent my thank you notes and sat back until I heard back from them regarding who they decide to extend an offer to. I didn’t hear anything for two weeks. Radio silence. I then reached out to the recruiter, and finally leading up to the third week, I received a rejection email.
