I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Jane Street (New York, NY) in Feb 2013
Interview
Was contacted by the recruiter at my school, who set up an on-campus interview for me. I was informed a few days later that I didn't make it to the next round.
The interviewer was cold and seemed disinterested. He wasn't helpful when I asked questions or clarifications about the problem.

Interview
I had a phone interview where we went over a technical problem. The interviewer described the problem in a very clear and well-defined way. I was allowed to code in any language I wanted to (ended up going with python). The response times are good, this company will not ghost you.
had a video call with a recruiter, was able to provide times and they chose one. The recruiter was very nice and helped when I got stuck on the problem
