      Middle School English Teacher Interview

      10 Jul 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Phoenix, AZ
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at K12 (Phoenix, AZ) in Jul 2016

      Interview

I applied online, a few weeks later was asked to make a 30 minute mock lesson and record teaching it in a virtual (empty) classroom. This was difficult as I was not familiar with the platform and I had no responses to my activities or questions. There was not a lot of support on how to complete this request and I felt it was awkward and did not showcase my strong points as a teacher. I was later contacted by the school for a phone interview where I was asked to teach high school math (SPED). I accepted this position and a few days later then they informed me the Middle School English position opened up so I took that instead. The process was pretty quick and I know now that when I interviewed I called into a virtual classroom where the hiring teachers were able to chat with each other via a chat box while I answered questions orally over the phone.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me a time where you used data driven instruction? Tell me a time where you were child first? If you had a student that was not completing assignments how would you work with that student to help them find success?
