      Instructional Designer Interview

      17 Sept 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Helsinki, Southern Finland
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Konecranes (Helsinki, Southern Finland) in Jul 2018

      Interview

Had quite the negative experience applying for Konecranes. The interview process was quite demanding, with 3 interviews. Initially, they offered me the job, only to change their minds after 3 weeks, right before we were supposed to sign the contract. Their reasoning was 'strategic changes' which prompted them to go with another candidate. Ludicrous and unpleasant, especially after they required a lot of work & preparation effort in the two months interview process. Not sure what exactly happened there, but my overall feeling is that they don't deserve to be trusted. Personally, I was already unemployed, but imagine someone else resigning from their job only to be informed a week before starting they are no longer going to be hired. Interview: - phone screening interview with the recruiter -interview with the team on Skype -panel interview that lasted a full working day and required me completing two tasks on the spot and present to the panel. PROS: -the people I met were very nice and seemed dedicated to their work, easy to give positive feedback and open minded CONS: -untrusworthy and not transparent with their engagement to give the job offer to the person they promised it to - 3rd interview was a full working day - they did not offer to pay back my travel expenses
