I had a mixed experience interviewing for the Data Scientist role. The first interview was very positive; the team members were engaging, professional, and seemed like great people to work with. However, the second 'technical interview' was a challenging and frustrating experience. The interviewers seemed disengaged, offered no clarifications, guidance, or feedback, and concluded the meeting 30 minutes ahead of schedule. This made it impossible to know if I was on the right track. More importantly, the questions were focused exclusively on system design, which was surprising for a role advertised as 'Data Scientist.' My feedback for the company would be to ensure the interview content aligns with the advertised role's title and responsibilities. For future candidates, be prepared for in-depth system design questions.
