Interview
After dealing with scheduling issues because this company expects you to be available without offering flexibility or rescheduling options, I finally had my final-round interview set. But just 30 minutes before the interview last week, I was told that the role was being put on hold due to budget constraints.
Today, I received an email saying they actually went with another candidate. I don’t understand why they couldn’t just be upfront from the start. I know these things happen, but giving false hope by saying they would reach out if funding allowed—especially after contacting my references, who gave glowing reviews—felt really unfair. If you're thinking about applying here, it’s something to keep in mind.
Initially, I was contacted via email. Then, I had a Zoom call with two interviewers, where they asked me a list of ten questions. I answered the questions. Then, they asked more questions.
The questions are fairly straight forward and allows you to answer broadly or specifically. Each interviewer asks questions based on a pre-made script. The questions are tailored to public interest and history of your employment.

Interview
I've applied for and interviewed for two separate paralegal positions at LSNYC in the last two years. Quality of experience really depends on the unit. Both times I was invited for an interview very quickly. The first time they sent me what the scope of the interview would be and the questions stuck to the scope for equity purposes. I received a prompt rejection within about two weeks. The second time they did not send me the scope of questions--presumably in violation of their own equity standards?--and I never received any follow up including to my multiple follow up emails. Disappointed at how some folks find it hard to send a two sentence email
