The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Phoenix, AZ) in Mar 2011
Interview
Applied for half a dozen different positions at Lowe's and received a call from their HR manager to schedule an interview within a few days. The process consisted of two interviews, the first of which was conducted by the HR manager. She gave me a printout showing the job and requirements, and asked me a few questions about my mechanical background. We then moved on to the usual half a dozen "Tell me about a time when X happened" questions, all of which were easily answered. I waited for about five minutes, and was then interviewed by an assistant store manager who asked me a series of questions nearly identical to the first.
At the end I was told they had a few more interviews to conduct, and if they were to hire me they would contact me within a week and have me come back in for the drug test and background check paperwork. Whether or not they were just blowing me off remains to be seen I suppose.
Also for whatever it's worth, both interviewers were pleasant and easy to deal with.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to sell something to a customer.
It was Easy and I was able to get the job done. It was a good experience and I had a great time. Questions asked were about my experience with home improvement.
Pretty easy interview. Basic questions about work history. What experience you have pertaining to the role. A few scenario questions about customer interaction and teamwork. Pretty much show confidence you can handle the job.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Ormond Beach, FL) in Apr 2025
Interview
I waited longer for the interview than the interview lasted, whole interview lasted about 10 minutes. They asked a few standard customer service type questions, like how you dealt with a difficult customer. They did not even want my resume.
