I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mango (London, England) in Jan 2017
Interview
Telephone Interview
Face to Face with Area VM Manager
2nd Face to Face with Area VM and Store Manager
Telephone interview was vague to say the least, the guy sounded like he had little idea of what to ask, I was expecting more questions regarding my personality, strengths, successes but was very basic.
Face to Face interview was pretty much the same, for other VM positions I applied for they asked more about you as a person, what your values are, what your strengths are but none of these types of questions were asked.
Practical exercise was to create an outfit but in the middle of the afternoon in the busiest time in the store with little knowledge of the product and limited new pieces out was very difficult, I was expecting an area where the interview could take place and if practical during the day when open probably isn’t the best time to do this. Even a SWOT analysis would have been a better idea.
Interview questions were very basic and when I asked questions regarding the role, salary, benefits etc I was told this would be given to me if I was successful. However in any other interview this information is normally given as you are trying to make the candidate feel like they will benefit from working for you?!
All in all I ended up telling them I didn’t want the position as it didn’t seem like a company that really valued their employees. An interview is supposed to be exciting but I left feeling like I’d wasted my time.

Question 1
Create an outfit for the MANGO customer, go to the shop floor and create a look for entrance podium
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Mango (Leicester, England)
Interview
I applied for this role at the end of November 2024 and first email with update I received on 1 February 2025. Shop is not open yet so I understand it takes time. But then between next email about interview past 11 days, then another week to have actual interview. I got an answer 2 weeks later, with 2nd stage in 10 days. I was waiting for a call with information if I got into a 3rd stage. After another 10 days I received email without any feedback(even that was promised on second interview stage) that I didn’t make it to a last stage. Interviews itself were good, second one was definitely more detailed. I understand it’s a process but 44 days is a lot for only 2 stage and no feedback at all.

Question 1
Describe how your day as visual merchandiser looks like.
Talking to HR first and then the team, it was 3 interviews total, the process is pretty straight forward, all communication was by email and Teams interviews, between interview it took them 2-3 weeks to get back to me
Enjoyable, challenging, good idea of what role will entail and very smooth processes. It was a quick and seamless transition from one stage to the next. Everyone was very friendly and some questions were difficult but if you prepare, you’ll be fine.
