Interview
I got an interview at Manulife Securities in Montreal. It was online through Teams. The interviewer hung up my call after I introduced myself and started to answer my first question. At first, I sent him a message and email to ask for another interview politely. I assumed it was a technical issue. It has been two days. He has not got back to me. I saw him still on LinkedIn when he hung up my video call. He did not reply to my message and my email. At first, I don't know why. After I went through everything I said(not a lot), I knew why. Because I said I am Chinese. He hung up my phone within two minutes after I said I am Chinese and my Chinese name. The entire interview lasted around 3-5 mins. I did not say anything except to induce myself. I worked for a large bank and I know exactly the interview process. I don't mind if he refuses my application. But, I do mind that everyone, especially minorities like me, can have equal rights in Montreal. When people talk about invisible discrimination in Canada, the discrimination in Montreal is visible.
