      Senior Analyst Interview

      26 Oct 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Marriott International

      Interview

3 interviews and all virtual (post covid work environment). Conducted first screening with recruiter to determine if I was a good fit. The next business day I was notified by recruiter that manager was interested in speaking with me. Interviewed with manager and leaned heavily on prior experience. Manager reaffirmed his interest in me and wanted to refer me to VP for a 3rd interview. HR took care of scheduling and met with VP. Questions were again geared towards job experience + high level view of her team’s structure. Notified a few business days later that manager and VP wanted to extend offer. Takeaways: - Research the company. This applies to any job you’re applying for. If you’ll devote 8hr/days to an employer, you should do your research. Strong way of appealing to your interviewer is by knowing the company. - Screening was more of a getting to know you and your experience. Interview with hiring manager and VP were STAR method. - It’s Marriott like how you pronounce the end of Chariot… not MarrYACHT. Bonus points if you can get that across ;)

      Question 1

Won’t give them all away.. it’s STAR method so be prepared. Tell me about a time you had to sacrifice quality of work to meet a deadline or multitask. How did you overcome this?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Marriott International (Bethesda, MD) in Dec 2019

      Interview

Mostly seamless interview process. I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter a week or so later for a phone screen. The phone screen was pretty standard, she asked about my career and what I knew about Marriott. About 1-2 weeks later I was contacted to schedule an in person interview. The on-site interview consisted of two hour long interview panel interviews with two people. The first was with a Director and a VP and consisted of mostly technical questions and some behavioral questions. The technical questions were a bit difficult but very appropriate for the position. The second interview was with a manager and another senior associate and was all behavioral questions. The only bad part of the process was hearing back. Two weeks following the interview passed and I didn't hearing anything so obviously I assumed I hadn't gotten it. Then, after two weeks, the recruiter reached out to me to say she was still waiting for the hiring manager to make a decision. Then nothing. No indication whatsoever that I hadn't been selected. So Marriott's process following interviews can definitely be improved. Basically, don't expect to actually be notified that you weren't selected.
