I was referred by a friend and was invited for an onsite interview. I met with the hiring mgr, one of her staff members and a developer a meeting room. I felt the interview went well, answered all technical questions in regards to the SDET position.
A week after the interview, I got a rejection email. I asked my friend about what happened and my friend said that the hiring mgr and her staff member were into female micro management. The two are into making all decisions withing the team by themselves especially the mgr's staff member who is known to provide all inputs for decision making.
My friend said the mgr's staff member isn't very seasoned with automation yet, she make a lot for poor decisions.
They are know to ignore any input from another QA team members. As a result of their management tactics and style, the moral of the QA team environment is quite low, as well as, low retention rate. In fact, the position was open because a male ex-team member quit after being employed for less than 3 months and said the he could not stand the team environment.
If your just a female 'Yes" person, than you might get hired.
At the time of my interview, their software development project was going Agile and the team is in chaos. LOL
